How to visit the park in summer starting from 11 June

ATTENTION: DURING THE SUMMER PERIOD MOST OF THE ITINERARIES OF THE PARK CAN ONLY BE USED WITH A GUIDE. CONSULT THE SUMMER RULES OR CALL THE VISITOR CENTER +39 0564 393238 OR +39 0564 407098.

Since 11 June, the discipline against forest fires, imposed by the Tuscany Region, has been active, so most of the routes can be carried out only with a guide and by reservation.

However, some itineraries remain to be enjoyed independently, upon purchase of the ticket at the Alberese visitor center (via del bersagliere 7/9 hours 8.30-13.30 and 15-18).

* Also from 11 June, bus line 17 will be active from Alberese to Alberese Mare and back.

Monday

Visit A- Stories of monks and woodcutters from the Middle Ages to today

If, as San Bernardino wrote, “… you find something more in the woods than in books”, the forest that surrounds the ruins of the monastery of San Rabano has a lot to tell.

From a place of silence and solitude, necessary for prayer, to the silvicultural management of forests, are the elements of interest to be rediscovered along the path leading to the Abbey.

Tuesday

Visit B- Talamone and the Cannelle bay

From the Roman cisterns of Talamone to the suggestive ridge of Punta del Corvo and the beautiful bay of Cannelle. The path alternates between stretches of holm oak and cyst and rosemary garrigue with a view of the splendid views of the coast and islands, until it descends to the Cannelle bay where you can cool off with a pleasant dip in its crystal clear waters.

Wednesday

Visits C- At night in the heart of the Park

The breaking of the waves on the shoreline below the Collelungo Tower as the sun sets to give way to the starry sky, amidst the scents of resins and rosemary, birdsong and sudden rustling. This is the night in the Park, where everything takes on the magical contours of a place out of time.

Thursday

Visit D- Night in San Rabano

A special excursion that allows you to reach the ruins of the Abbey towards sunset and thus enjoy a light

magical for the visit.

The return will take place at night, surrounded by the sounds of the forest that will make the experience truly unique.

Friday

E-Night visit to the fauna

A few steps from Alberese, after a hot summer day, the centuries-old oak forest becomes an ideal and welcoming place to relax while observing the starry sky and try to identify the sounds and signs left by its inhabitants. Easy route, also suitable for families with children.

– Event 8 – In the Footsteps of the Brigands

Saturday 11 June, Saturday 6 August and Saturday 10 September

Maremma legends and stories told walking along the most suggestive cliff of the Park that hides caves, ravines and secrets for a journey through time and unspoiled nature, with the background of the colors of the sunset. From the Pinottolaio to the Caprarecce, a short uphill stretch to have a view of the sunset over the Granducale Pinewood and then off to the Scoglietto, among scents and primordial landscapes in an area accessible only with a guide. Along the cycle path we return to the starting point.

Event 11 – A thousand uses of the Mediterranean wood

Sunday 12 June, Saturday 9 July and Wednesday 24 August

From the Grand Ducal pine forest, with its rich undergrowth, to the Uccellina mountains covered with holm oaks. Between coppices and tall trees, on the path of the towers to the sea, we will retrace the centuries-old path of woodcutters and charcoal burners. Bring packed lunch.

Event 2 – Aperitif in Collelungo

Saturday 18 June, Sunday 31 July, Sunday 7 August and Sunday 11 September

A wonderful opportunity to enjoy an exceptional sunset on one of the wildest beaches in Tuscany. A short route allows you to reach the Collelungo tower and enjoy the sunset from one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the area. We will then go down to the now deserted beach to take a nice swim while an aperitif based on local wine will be set up.

Event 10 – Men and forest in the Talamonese

Sunday 19 June, Saturday 16 July, Wednesday 17 August and Saturday 17 September

The first part of the T2 itinerary is in common with T1, continue along the ridge to the crossroads where the signs lead us to descend towards the sea. You go down for a certain stretch through an area of ​​low vegetation that allows you to admire the splendid rocky coast of the Park and the islands. Further on, the path plunges into the scrub and, arriving at a detour, take the downhill path that leads to the small beach that lies at the foot of the hill dominated by the Torre delle Cannelle. Going back for a while, the path climbs up the hill on a steep path to return to the ridge, joining at T1, to then return to the town.

Event 1 – San Rabano with the historian / archaeologist

Discovering the Monastery of San Rabano together with a guide with a degree in history of art or archeology, to learn about history, art and aspects of daily life in a medieval Abbey.

Event 9 – Toast at sunset in Castelmarino

Saturday 25 June, Sunday 17 July, Saturday 13 August and Sunday 4 September

An experience to remember: toast with a good local wine while observing the sunset from the cliff of Castel Marino, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Maremma. The itinerary will take us to one of the oldest towers in the park and then descend to the wild beach of Collelungo to take a suggestive night swim in a magical atmosphere.

Event 3 – Faunal stories and legends

Along the path of legends on the wildlife itinerary, we cross history with pirates, countesses and treasures to be conquered, according to the very rich oral tradition of the Maremma; thanks to the cork and downy oak wood most characteristic of the Park inhabited by herds of fallow deer.

Event 5 – Sunset in Bocca d’Ombrone

Wednesday 29 June – Sunday 24 July – Saturday 27 August

We will go to the mouth of the Ombrone river to admire suggestive sunsets in the company of a guide expert in popular traditions who will tell the Maremma through stories and anecdotes of a suffered but loved land.

Event 6 – Toast at sunset at Punta del Corvo

Saturday 2 July, Saturday 30 July and Saturday 20 August

The path climbs between scrubs and scrubland perfumed with rosemary until it reaches Punta del Corvo where, in full relaxation, we await the sunset. On the way back, in the clearings and olive groves, remaining silent you can listen to the nocturnal voices of the Park’s animals, and, with a bit of luck, you can also make interesting sightings.

Event 13 – Collecchio crossing – Salto del Cervo and Talamone

Sunday 3 July – Sunday 18 September

Starting from Tenuta dell’Uccellina among olive groves, strawberry trees and holm oaks with intense perfumes, you pass by the beautiful Lower Tower and then climb the Poggio alle Sugherine where, climbing on the roof terrace, you can admire the spectacular panorama as far as the eye can see. on the coast. The itinerary then takes us to Cala Salto del Cervo and Cala de Le Cannelle, small wild bays among the most beautiful in the Park. The itinerary ends in Talamone where we will have conveniently left some cars.

Event 14 – Medieval path, walk in the vineyard with aperitif at the Duchesco

Sunday 10 July – Wednesday 3 August and Wednesday 7 September

The itinerary begins in correspondence with itinerary A1 bis from the cemetery of Alberese, continues at the foot of Spaccasso and upon reaching the Piscina del Prete, descends intercepting the ancient medieval road of San Rabano. It first runs alongside a holm oak wood, then crosses an ancient olive grove until it reaches the plain. It continues on a road that skirts agricultural and livestock farms until it reaches the Alberese station. After that you can go back by the same path.

Event 12 – Voices in the night

Evening out in the park to recognize songs and calls together with the expert. In the evocative evening atmosphere, many animals begin their sound activity, giving the listener a unique experience.

The singing of nocturnal birds of prey and small amphibians, the chirping of crickets or the calls of the fox and the roe deer will accompany us on this journey through the nature of the Park.

Event 4 – on two-wheeled bicycle in the Park in the evening

Wednesday 20 July – Sunday 21 August

On two wheels among centuries-old olive groves to the wild beach of Collelungo for a dip at sunset to remember. Still in the saddle through the pine forest to get to Marina di Alberese and finally on the cycle path to Alberese, in a nocturnal journey that will give us unique emotions, scents and sensations.

Event 7 – Surise to Poggio alle Sugherine and swim at Salto del Cervo

Sunday 28th August

Starting from Tenuta dell’Uccellina among olive groves, strawberry trees and holm oaks with intense perfumes, you pass by the beautiful Torre Bassa and then turn off to climb up to the top of Poggio alle Sugherine where, climbing the roof terrace, you can admire the spectacular panorama of the woods as far as the eye can see on the thing and the Tuscan islands. You go down towards the sea to Cala Salto del Cervo for a dip in the crystal clear waters not reached by mass tourism. After a restful break we set out on the way back.
